New feature: Football as a topic in videoart

Forever - The Ball!

The compilation of films and videos selected and curated by Agricola de Cologne is observing the phenomenon of football from different positions.
They transport basically the enthusiasm for this sport, from those who are actively practicing this sport, but in the same way, the fans, enrthusiastic amateurs who identify themselves with the pleasure and positive the sport and its protagonists are representing to them. But also the dark side of this sport is spotlighted,like hooligans, radical mass phenomenons, and the misuse of drugs and alcohol.

The screening program including 21 Mexican artists was premiered already on 14 & 15 November 2011 in the framework of CologneOFF 2011 - Mexico @ Media Fest UAM - Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana

1 January 2012 - launch of new call

On 1 January 2012, Cologne International Videoart festival is officially launching the new call for the 8th festival edition -
CologneOFF VIII - Continental Drift.

“Continental Drift” is used as a metaphore for the instabile political, economical and ecological situation, people live on the globe currently, which is representing also a moral crisis of all systems in power.

CologneOFF VIII will be premiered in September 2012 in the framework of the nomadic festival project CologneOFF 2012 - videoart in a global context.

Artists are invited to submit exclusively online.up to 3 experimental films and videoart dealing with human rights, memory and identity

further CologneOFF will be featuring the curatorial contribution ” Contextual Face” curated by Evelyn Stermitz (Austria) - which offers a feminist view on videoart. this compilation was already screening several times in the framework of CologneOFF 2011.
