Cologne Art & Animation Festival
would like give the animation as a particular artistic expression more attention, relevance and space by using a new festival format based on an exceptional permament collection of animated art contents to be extended once a year via a new festival edition.
The 1st festival edition will be launched in September 2012 in the framework of CologneOFF 2012 - videoart in a global context - nomadic festival project.

Today, the new videoart online feature is launched: Mexican Visions - videoart from Mexico
a collaboration between Circuito Electrovisiones & CologneOFF
but now this feature can be reviewed also online giving an exciting view on the current videoart creation in Mexico. Each included artists is presenting another aspect of the multi-facetted genre of videoart.
On 1 January 2012, Cologne International Videoart festival is officially launching the new call for the 8th festival edition - CologneOFF VIII - Continental Drift.
“Continental Drift” is used as a metaphore for the instabile political, economical and ecological situation, people live on the globe currently, which is representing also a moral crisis of all systems in power.
After 1 year of the real big success on the tour around the globe, Agricola de Cologne and the entire team of Cologne International Videoart Festival wish all friends, partners and supporters a Merry Christmas and a Happy, Successful New Year!!
CologneOFF 2011 is featuring during October videoart from China, and especially video art by the artists couple Lily and Honglei, who are video artists of the month October 2011.
further CologneOFF will be featuring the curatorial contribution ” Contextual Face” curated by Evelyn Stermitz (Austria) - which offers a feminist view on videoart. this compilation was already screening several times in the framework of CologneOFF 2011.
